About Me
I’ve spent years as a school counselor watching young people navigate some of the biggest transitions of their lives — starting high school, heading to college, choosing a gap year, or entering the workforce.
What I’ve I noticed is a gap. We celebrate these big moments in life, but we don't talk much about the other side of the excitement. The part that's a little scary and a little overwhelming. The part that’s sometimes even sad, because stepping into the next chapter of life means saying goodbye to something familiar.
These transitions aren't forever conditions, they’re doorways. Mostly unknown, often exciting, and almost always accompanied by a quiet undercurrent of uncertainty. Having someone objective in your corner while you're moving through that doorway makes a real difference.
That’s why I built the Next Chapter Project. I stand in that space with you.
My background: I hold an MA in Psychology with a focus in Marriage & Family Therapy, and have spent over 15 years working in the mental health field as a counselor and therapist. I currently serve as the Upper School Counselor at Polytechnic School in Pasadena, one of the country's leading independent schools, where I support students through academic and life transitions every day. I'm also a Certified Wellness Professional, have 10+ years in student leadership development, and work as an admissions reader at both the high school and college levels.
* Note: I am a coach, not a licensed therapist. Coaching is not therapy.
MY COACHING METHOD
FOCUS
We start by getting clear about what's going on. Through honest conversation and curiosity, we identify what's driving the stress, anxiety, or uncertainty. We’ll get to the heart of what you most need from our time together.
REFLECT
Next we look at what's making this transition feel difficult, and what coping mechanisms have worked for you in the past. This is where we build your toolkit with practical strategies and skills tailored to what you're actually navigating.
REFINE
Change isn't linear. We regularly check in on what's working, what isn't, and adjust accordingly, so the toolkit we build stays relevant and the skills you develop evolve with you.
